Principal’s Message

Dear Tetso Family,

I feel grateful and honoured to be given the opportunity to be your Principal today.

Everything that Tetso College has achieved from 1994 till date is remarkable and it is because of the untold sacrifices that were made at the beginning, the persistence and resilience over the years alongside the fulfilling rewards and overwhelming successes achieved, owing to all the people who have been a part of the Tetso family from the very beginning till date.

I also feel extremely proud to be an alumni of the College, having completed my Pre-University as an Arts student in the year 2001 and also to be the first gold medalist of the College. As I recall, even back then we had truly dedicated and sincere teachers I will always be indebted to, some of whom were Ms. Benisha, Mr. Vasant and others. Today Ms. Benisha is the founder of Rincho Academy, a top notch school in 5th mile and Dr. Vasant is now the registrar of ICFAI University. Tetso College is not just about the students but it is also about the staff who go on to achieve amazing things and create a positive impact in the world. If I were to name our students then we only need to look at someone from the first batch of Tetso College, Shri Medo Yokha our current Advisor Technical Education and Election, and many others who have made their mark around the world and will no doubt achieve even more. All of these make me even prouder to be the Principal of this amazing college. This is a true reflection of the College’s vision to create a positive impact in the world and our mission to empower people towards lifelong excellence.

We have made tremendous progress in the Higher Education scene and I am happy to announce that we are starting two new programmes this year 2021:

i) Bachelor of Computer Applications

ii) Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics.

Apart from this, I would like to thank and congratulate everyone who has been working wholeheartedly in line with the College’s vision and mission. Many Departments and Clubs/Units have been creating a positive impact in the world everyday, and although all cannot be listed in entirety, some of them are:

  • The Tetso Motorcycle Club that provided service and food to the pandemic victims last year,
  • The English Department that donated books to the Central Jail Library,
  •
  • The visits to orphanages such as Ebenezer Home by NSS Unit, blood donations by Red Ribbon Club, a charity drive initiated by the Tetso Student Council recently for a fellow student in need of financial aid, collaborations with USIEF to provide educational opportunities for students seeking to study in the US. We also have a research team currently working on a Cyber Crime research project led by Asst. Professor Dr. Debabrata.

  • We have also awarded over Rs 35 lakhs of scholarships to toppers and some financially weak students including a few students with terminal diseases.

We know that all of this is making a difference in people’s lives and we encourage you to continue on in this spirit.

We believe this institution can move beyond into something larger – something larger than any individual, department or unit. It is an institution that is not limited by boundaries of state or country – something that goes beyond narrow tribalist or clan mindsets or divisive lines. It encompasses everyone equally and all those who seek to continuously strive for excellence in all spheres of life in order to create a positive impact around us. Everyone who is part of the Tetso family must understand this well and try to live up to it.

At the same time, we welcome all students, teachers, alumni and parents of the Tetso family to reach out to us anytime to collaborate, partner, share ideas and join hands in achieving more milestones together.

Strive for Excellence.

Dr. Hewasa L. Khing
Principal
