The universe slowed down the hands of time,
Weeks felt like months and months like years,
The frenetic cadence of the modern world came to a halt
The streets stripped naked of people,
No sound of engines, no smog clouding my vision,
I sat on my porch gazing my mother’s chrysanthemums,
Sunlight peeking through the clouds,
Birds perched on the mango tree,
Things I never appreciated before,
Time moved slow,
And my appreciation for the things that surrounded me grew.
Every minute I spent on my screen;
A reminder of how lucky I was,
I was clothed,I had food to eat,I had a roof over my head.
At night I slept with no consternation no what tomorrow would bring,
A luxury, not everyone had.
