Embracing The New Normal

The outbreak of COVID-19 has led to a sudden transition in all aspects of life, without any preparation, and one such aspect that demands immediate attention is Education.

As learning institutions around the world grapple to introduce new learning systems, the need of the hour is to adapt to a learning process least hindered by shortcomings for students, teachers, institutions and society and as whole.

“As we embrace the new normal in practice, it is not as strenuous as one thinks. Rather students and learners should sagaciously prepare for their studies despite the shortcomings and adversities which are unavoidable,” feels Somungla Khamrang, HOD, Department of Education.

Sharing a photo of her work station at home, the assistant professor reminds students to keep certain secrets/approaches on their fingertips to learn effectively such as:

– ensuring congenial study environment, judicious time management, meeting deadlines, ensuring reliable internet access, staying on track with the courses, participation in activities, mentally and physically engaging during online class, recognizing proper channel of resources, and clarifying queries / doubts on time.

“If a student has a sense of responsibility in their studies, there is no stopping for anybody to achieve excellence,” she adds.
