St. Joseph School at Virgin Town, Ikishe Model Village, Dimapur, has become the first CBSE run school under the aegis of the Catholic Church.
The newly built school, under the management of Daughters of Mary Immaculate (DMI) Sisters and Missionaries of Mary Immaculate (MMI) was blessed and inaugurated by Bishop of Kohima, Rev. Dr. James Thoppil on April 19. In his speech, the Bishop thanked Rev. Fr. Arul Raj, the founder of DMI & MMI for the bold steps taken to start the school and the University in Nagaland.
Bishop hoped that substantial and tangible changes would effect from this campus that would provide wholesome and complete education in one institution from KG to Ph.D.
He also believed that moral and value backed education imparted in the institution would bring about great changes for a better and brighter Nagaland.
The gathering was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. J.E. Arul Raj, founder and chairmen of DMI & MMI, Rev. Sr. S. Gnana Selvam DMI, DFT Managing Trustee, Rev. Sr. C. Rita Mary DMI, superior general of DMI, Rev. Fr. C. Albert, MMI the provincial superior, Dunston, vice-chancellor of St. Joseph University, priests, nuns, brothers, public leaders, teachers, parents, students and other invited guests.
It was also announced that the new St. Joseph University, Nagaland would begin various courses and programs during the month of June with various streams of study. The official inauguration of the university would take place on November 18, 2017.
