Tetso College NSS Unit celebrates the world Earth Day on 22nd April,2021

The Tetso NSS Unit celebrates the world Earth Day on 22nd April,2021. A webinar was organized in this regard, and the various factors that contribute towards the climate action was discussed. The speaker highlighted on points of how the ‘change can change climate change’ has become a matter of global concern worldwide:

  1. He highlighted the importance of CCPI Index (index rank, that shows a country’s performance in maintaining the climate),India is ranked at 10th Place in this CCPI index. 
  2. He focussed on the growth of C3 and C4 plants, through which type of can be planted according to the geographical atmospheric conditions and this plant helps in the fixation of Carbon-dioxide in the atmosphere by reducing its molecules.
  3. He stated that human factors are mainly responsible for the changes in climatic condition. Human factors such as improper waste disposal, luxury goods demand, wasting the water resources, etc which all lead to global warming and climate change. He also explained the negative consequences of the Greenhouse Effect and how it controls over our climate. 
  4. He suggested measures like “Reuse, Reduce and Recycle” through which we can contribute in controlling the temperature, such as using renewable sources of energy, investing on Energy Efficient appliances, Shrink the use of products that emit CO2 gases, prevent wastage, grow more plants in and around our vicinity.
